Greg Schober, OD
Dr. Schober graduated from Pacific University in 1979. He founded Water Tower Contact Lens & Vision Clinic in 1981. A move down the street and a name change to Macadam Vision Clinic transpired in 2003. In the summer, Dr. Schober enjoys motor boating and wake boarding on the Willamette, hiking, going to the gym and cycling. He is a member of a sixties band called The Touchables.
Dr. Schober and Dr. Bauer got married atop Larch Mountain in the gorge in October 1983. They have two sons, both graduated from Georgetown University, followed by a daughter who currently attends Vanderbilt University. The Schober family attends Southlake Church.
Dr. Schober enjoys making new friends with new patients and catching up with those that have been coming for years.
Mauri Bauer, OD
Dr. Bauer received 2 degrees from Pacific University: a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1978 and a Doctorate of Optometry in 1980. She has practiced with her husband, Dr. Greg Schober, at Macadam Vision Clinic for the past 25 years in the Johns Landing area.
In addition to attending The Touchables performances, she also takes pleasure in playing piano duets with her 3 children and singing/playing duets with her husband, Greg. She enjoys hiking, camping, and wakeboarding.

Marcella - Optician
Marcella, the newest member of our team, joined our office in January of 2007. She is one of our receptionists, as well as our diagnostic technician. She enjoys working with all of our patients during the initial portion of their exam.
Outside of work, Marcella loves spending time with her three children and enjoys skiing, camping and cheering on the Portland Trail Blazers!

Norma - Optician
Norma has been in the optical business for 30 years and at Macadam Vision Clinic for 14 years. She is a "people person" who loves helping patients with all of their optical needs. She especially enjoys helping you find that perfect pair of frames and lenses.
Norma and her husband are native Portlanders. They have raised their two grown children and are now enjoying the benefits of grandchildren.
In her spare time, she loves getting together with friends and family. She also enjoys fine dining.

Sandra - Optician
Sandra has been with us since September of 2006. She is our resident insurance specialist and will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your insurance benefits. She will even bill your insurance company for you!
While Sandra is not working at Macadam Vision Clinic, she enjoys showing her creative abilities in hair cutting and coloring. Look for her at Modish Salon Studios in the Pearl District.

Catherine - Optician
Catherine has been in optical since 1989. She spent a few of those years working as a final inspector at two well known, nation-wide laboratories. Catherine was certified by the American Board of Opticianry in 1995. She has been working at Macadam Vision since 1999.
While Catherine is not working she enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three children. She also enjoys reading, playing the piano, crocheting, bicycling, camping and playing games with friends. She is also highly involved at their church where her husband is Pastor.
Romy
Romy has been in the optical business since 1986 and started working for the Schobers in 1990. She met her husband of 17 years at Macadam Vision Clinic and then took several years off to raise their 3 children!
Romy enjoys spending time outdoors gardening, hiking, and attending her children’s sporting events.
